County Commercial Cars began in 1929 by converting Ford trucks from 2×4 to 4×6 drive. In 1948, the company transitioned to converting tractors into track versions. By 1961, County started producing equal-wheeled 4WD tractors, which quickly earned a reputation for unmatched traction and stability. These tractors became particularly popular among farmers working on hilly terrain.

The County 1184, introduced in 1977, was based on the Ford 7600 rear end and featured a Ford 8700 engine delivering 112 hp (84 kW). It was a reliable and powerful tractor for its time.
