Field Health: Crop Diseases & Pests
Field Health adds an engaging yet approachable crop disease and pest system to the game. Player-managed fields can be affected during the growing season, while NPC fields always remain healthy.
Diseases and pests
- 44 different threats: 24 diseases, including powdery mildew, septoria, rust, fusarium and potato late blight, plus 20 pests such as aphids, cereal leaf beetles, pollen beetles, Colorado potato beetles and corn borers.
- Every threat affects only specific crops and appears at the appropriate time of year and stage of crop growth.
- Outbreaks begin as small, irregular patches, develop over time and can spread to neighbouring fields.
Risk and treatment
Crop rotation, plowing, liming, mulching, fertilizing, weed control, temperature and moisture all influence the risk of an outbreak. Fungicides treat diseases, while insecticides control pests. The products work like herbicides in any sprayer, and AI workers can automatically spray fields that require treatment.
Products and field information
The shop offers fungicides and insecticides in 1-, 5- and 20-liter containers from Opryskex and MST. Every container includes its own 3D model, realistic label and tuned physics. Field health can be viewed on the map, minimap, field information box, farmland box and through notifications. Dedicated map layers show protection status, diseases, pests and their individual types.
Detailed settings
More than 20 in-game options allow the chances, spread, development speed, crop losses, protection duration, prices, notifications and many other parameters to be adjusted. The full system can be configured as a gentle extra challenge, a demanding simulation or turned off completely.
Precision Farming and onions from the Highlands Fishing DLC are supported. The system is available in English and Polish, works in multiplayer and stores its data in separate files so that savegames remain compatible after removing the mod.
