Welcome to Hawkeye Creek, Iowa, created by the Kaye Farms Modding Team.
You'll discover river bottoms, flat land, and hilly terrain with plenty of timber. We've introduced corn and soybean hybrids along with custom-built farms. This map is designed to challenge all players. Even on easy mode, selling your products will still be a challenge.
The base game corn is now referred to as wet corn in-game, and selling this corn yields very little profit. All hybrids will combine to "corn," which you can dry. Make sure to use a mod that works with the fillType MAIZE2. Soybean hybrids will convert to soybeans when harvested.
Corn Hybrids:
5088 performs well on most soil types, with a higher population and responds well to nitrogen.
5864 also does well on most soil types, but with a lower population, resulting in lower yield.
5899 is the silage corn hybrid. You can plant this hybrid later in the year to assist with your double crop, producing plenty of chaff.
The base game corn (wet corn) is for the short season, depending on when you plant it. This will help you get winter wheat in the ground on time.
Soybean Hybrids:
4804 are your full-season soybeans that can withstand the heat.
2203 are your short-season beans to plant after wheat.
Animals:
If you enjoy feeding cows, I have adjusted the TMR mix to require hay, silage, and mineral feed or CCM. Straw and corn stalks are just for filler. You have the option to add grain as cracked corn. The hammer mill will be needed to produce cracked corn, which also produces pig food if you put it back in the hammer mill.
The map includes NH3, Starter, 28, and 32, custom lime textures, antler ground textures, and a custom soil map based on real-life soil data from the area.
