Helper Section Width
This mod keeps your manually selected section width instead of resetting it to the implement's maximum working width when work begins.
You know the problem: you set your spreader or sprayer to 12 m, hand the job over to the AI helper or Courseplay, and the game reopens every section to 48 m – resulting in passes far outside the field. This mod prevents exactly that.
The game already has a flag called "aiKeepCurrentWidth" that is checked before resetting sections. It is disabled by default and never set by any vehicle. This mod simply sets it – it does not replace any game functions or rewrite behaviour, so it will not conflict with Courseplay or other script mods.
Safety net: If you start work while all sections are closed, the mod lets the game reopen them, since a working width of zero would result in a degenerate track. This will be logged.
Note on Courseplay: Courseplay reads the working width when it GENERATES the route. Set your width first, then generate the route.
Works with every implement that has sections with variable working width.
Working width and built-in AI helper: When handing over the job, the helper does not automatically adopt your section width – it suggests the implement's full working width. Open the AI settings window and set the "Working Width" field to your chosen width; the mod will then keep the sections at that setting for the entire job. With Courseplay, the selected width is adopted directly when the route is generated – no extra step needed. Automatic adoption by the built-in helper is planned for a future update.
Courseplay-compatible: The mod only hooks into the original functions and never replaces them. Courseplay and other script mods continue to work without issues. Tested with Courseplay 8.1.0.3.
