Hyper Realistic Maintenance 2
Hyper Realistic Maintenance 2 adds a deep, continuous mechanical simulation to every motorized vehicle in your savegame – tractors, trucks, harvesters and cars alike. Your engine wears out, your oil gets dirty, and your turbo will eventually fail if you never service it.
Simulated components:
- Engine: 5 independent components (cylinders, pistons, bearings, crankshaft, valves) that influence each other. Cylinder wear increases blow-by, contaminating your oil and accelerating further wear.
- Thermal: Coolant temperature rises under load; the engine overheats when the radiator is damaged.
- Fluids: Oil level/contamination and coolant level are checkable and refillable.
- Drivetrain: Wear on clutch, transmission, turbo, battery and starter over time.
- Failures: Probability-based breakdowns that increase sharply from around 35 % component wear. Critical overheating above 118 °C is guaranteed, not a matter of luck.
- Vehicle-specific behavior: Tractors, trucks, harvesters and cars wear at different, realistic rates.
Real impact, not just cosmetic numbers:
- Actual power loss – available engine torque drops noticeably; you'll feel it in the field.
- Real starting problems – an empty battery or worn starter can actually prevent the engine from turning over, with an on-screen warning.
- Harvesters lose real threshing performance as the engine condition declines.
Scheduled maintenance as in real life: 10 serviceable items (engine oil, filters, hydraulic/transmission oil, coolant, grease, belts and more), each with its own interval and real costs to your farm budget – automatically scaled to the vehicle's actual engine power. Let maintenance slide and wear accelerates by up to +120 %.
The 3-page vehicle HUD (overview, detailed engine diagnostics, maintenance status) can be repositioned via the in-game settings menu. The game's own vehicle repair screens (shop, farm workshop, mobile workshop) now also perform a full HRM2 service.
Compatibility: Runs fully standalone. If you also install the 4x4 Traction System mod, the two detect each other automatically – their HUDs won't overlap, and using AWD/diff lock adds a slight additional realistic strain on the drivetrain. Neither mod requires the other. Currently singleplayer only; state is not yet persisted in the savegame (see README for an honest list of current limitations).
