Know Your Limits

Know Your Limits is a read-only diagnostic mod that helps you understand three separate material-capacity limits in the game.

Three limits monitored:

• FillType Registry: Displays current usage and the live capacity reported by the game.
• HeightType Registry: Shows the active map's usage and capacity while also monitoring the familiar standard reference of 63.
• Distance Texture Pool: Monitors the separate hard limit of 255 associated with the "Using too many distance textures" log error.

These are independent systems. The mod displays each one individually so you can see exactly which limit is approaching or exceeding capacity.

Find what is adding FillTypes:
The detailed report identifies contributing sources, including: base game, active map, installed DLCs, installed mods, scripts, and other sources. Whenever possible, it shows the player-facing name of the map, DLC, or mod and displays how many FillTypes and distance-texture entries each source contributes.

Opening the report:
A short notice appears when the save finishes loading and displays the status of all three monitored limits. Press SPACE to close the notice. The complete report can then be opened with RIGHT ALT + 3. Press SPACE to advance through the report pages. The final page closes the report and returns you to gameplay.

The shortcut is a dedicated remappable action named Open Complete Know Your Limits Report, allowing you to change it through the game's control settings if needed.

Read-only and safe:
Know Your Limits does not increase or modify any game limit. It never adds, removes, replaces, or reorders FillTypes, HeightTypes, or distance textures. Its purpose is simple: show you how much capacity remains and identify what is contributing to each monitored limit.
