This mod brings independent left and right rear wheel braking to every tractor in the game – just like on a real tractor. Pressing only one brake pedal makes the machine pivot tightly around the braked wheel, providing much stronger turning than steering alone, especially under heavy loads where the front axle gets light and steering becomes vague. Ideal for tight farmyards, forestry work and any situation with a heavy implement on the back. Differential: The rear axle differential automatically opens while a brake is applied and re-engages when released, matching real-world tractor behavior. This is crucial – with a locked differential, both rear wheels are tied to the same speed, so single-side braking would only drag the whole axle. Features:
  • Independent left and right rear wheel braking for every tractor, including mods
  • Rear differential auto-opens on braking and re-engages on release
  • Automatic rear wheel detection – no per-vehicle configuration needed
  • Force scales with vehicle mass for proper feel on small and large machines
  • Smooth ramp-up, instant release
  • Works at any speed, with optional speed limiter
  • On-screen indicator when a brake is engaged
  • Four strength presets in the script, from gentle to full wheel lock
  • Full multiplayer support
Controls:
  • Left steering brake: LeftAlt + Numpad 1
  • Right steering brake: LeftAlt + Numpad 3
Hold the key as long as the brake should be applied. Pressing both simultaneously gives you powerful rear axle braking. Key bindings can be changed in Options – Controls. Settings: Open scripts/TractorSteeringBrake.lua to configure four presets plus individual values for brake force, mass scaling, ramp-up time, optional speed limiter and differential behavior. For the most realistic feel, set the transmission mode to manual in the game options. PC only.
