Welcome to Owendale, Michigan

Step back in time to 1882, when the new rail lines began to shape Huron County. Two cousins from Saginaw, Michigan, John G. and John S. Owen, purchased land in the Columbia Swamp, establishing a sawmill to harvest native oak. By 1887, the town of Owendale was surveyed and dedicated to public use, transforming from a lumber hub to a thriving agricultural community after the sawmill burned in 1896.

Experience farming with 32 diverse fields, ranging from small to large, and minimal forestry, though a sawmill is available for those interested in creating a forest. The town boasts seven production facilities and a grain dryer on the main farm. Essential supplies like seed, lime, and fertilizer can be purchased at the local Pioneer dealer. The map features realistic weather effects, with drain ditches filling with water during rainstorms, and includes Precision Farming by default.

Owendale is inspired by Saginaw, Michigan, emphasizing agriculture over logging. Wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy sightings of whitetail deer in the fall and wild turkeys.
