Realistic Tire Wear
This script introduces a standalone and significantly more detailed wear system for tires, rubber tracks, and steel tracks to Farming Simulator.
Tires and track systems (rubber or steel) wear down based on the actual distance traveled, stress caused by wheel slip, and various other factors. Your driving style, the type of ground, weather conditions, the weight you're hauling, and the dynamic load distribution across your wheels or tracks all play a role. Wear is tracked and saved individually for every vehicle and every wheel or track unit, independent of the standard vehicle wear system.
Heavily worn tires lose traction, noticeably affecting handling. Whether accelerating, braking, or turning, the vehicle will begin to slide. Tires, suspension systems, and track rollers can be replaced at the workshop, with costs depending on the vehicle type, the number and size of components, and a reference mileage multiplier.
The desired reference lifespan can be adjusted in the settings – from 350 to 2,000 km, depending on map size and usage period.
The script also supports AI-controlled vehicles using Courseplay, AutoDrive, or the built-in Giants AI. An electronic immobilizer locks the vehicle during startup until the system is fully initialized.
Current wear levels can be displayed directly in the HUD when using the "Lights & Symbol HUD" script.
