Roadside Mowing

Transform every patch of unkempt grass on your map into income with Roadside Mowing! No contracts or menus needed—just start mowing and watch the money roll in. Perfect for roleplaying 'start from scratch' and creating a recurring growth cycle without breaking immersion by using the construction menu.

HOW IT WORKS

Activate a mower or mulcher on grass outside of a registered field to earn $3.50 per square meter as the grass is cut. Earnings are accumulated and paid out every 30 seconds to keep notifications manageable.

Mowers leave a real windrow on cut grass, allowing you to collect it with a forage wagon or baler. Roadside meadow yield is about half the rate of a true grass crop, with sparse decorative cuts producing a thinner synthetic windrow for continuous collection.

MEADOW REGROWTH

While using a mower, cycle through three meadow modes with Alt+M:

• REGROW (default): Converts decorative grass to renewable meadow grass over time. Anomalies can be cleared with the 'Remove' mode.
• OFF: Mow normally without regrowth. Leaves plain terrain texture or stubble based on the initial grass type.
• REMOVE: Clear existing meadow growth, leaving bare ground for landscaping or construction.

BUILT-IN PROTECTIONS

• NPC fields are protected from accidental mowing.
• Cattails and reeds near ponds are not mowable to preserve map design.
• Your fields function normally with regular yields and no double-pay.

QUALITY OF LIFE

• Work off-field without access warnings, but NPC crops still trigger access checks.
• Compatible with any base-game mower, mulcher, forage wagon, or baler.

COMPATIBILITY NOTE

REGROW mode is not compatible with RealMower, which clears decorative grass before regrowth can occur. All other features work alongside RealMower, with a popup explaining this on world load.
