TTD – Tractor Terrain Dynamics
TTD – Tractor Terrain Dynamics expands vehicle and implement physics with detailed simulation of terrain, weather, and tires. Its default operation works automatically, so no extensive configuration is required.
Terrain is a central factor: rain increases moisture, soft or wet surfaces reduce traction, and plowed or cultivated soil increases resistance. Asphalt and concrete, by contrast, provide nearly unrestricted grip.
- 17 terrain and surface types with different traction, moisture, and rolling resistance
- Realistic wheel slip and sinking based on surface type, load, speed, and tire configuration
- Different tires and running gear – narrow tires slip more easily, while wide tires, dual tires, and tracks provide more grip
- Realistic drivetrain behavior with gears held under load, plus improved differential and hydraulic calculations
- Trailer and implement resistance is transferred directly to the tractor
- AI-controlled vehicles also react to surfaces, weather, and terrain deformation
- HUD display for soil moisture, traction, resistance, slip, and wheel sinking
The Field, Field + Roads, and Roads Only modes provide different physics priorities. With terrain deformation enabled, wheels leave tracks and alter natural surfaces. Damaged areas can be repaired manually using the game's Terraforming tools.
Compatibility: UseYourTyres is supported optionally, allowing tire wear to affect traction. More Realistic can also be used alongside TTD. If another terrain physics mod is already in use, TTD should be set to “Roads Only” to prevent conflicts on fields.
Multiplayer: Physics data is synchronized between the host and clients. Dedicated server support is included in this beta.
This beta release invites testing on different surfaces and in both dry and wet conditions. Feedback on traction, slip, performance, and compatibility helps guide further development.
