description
This is the H.I.V.E. (Home-Industrial Vehicular Explorer) class mobile base, model WRKR-B.
Built from the ground up in survival, I've used and upgraded this over the course of many hours. It's been able to tackle every planet I've thrown at it so far. For an album with some of the highlights of my run with this, see here: https://imgur.com/a/5YUAFj5
No mods or DLC are required.
Designed to be a mobile, all terrain base for the both ground and in space. I've aimed to make this thing as versatile as possible. Every function this has, has been added to help overcome a problem. As such, there are a lot of controls to get the hang of. See the bottom for an explanation of the toolbars.
MAIN FEATURES:
-Cargo bay with storage and reactor
-Engine room with generators/engines/batteries
-Wheels, atmo/hydro/ion thrusters
-2 docking connectors
-Front/back bumper wheels for tilt control and steep slope traversal.
-NOT airtight
-Detachable Solar Wings
-2 Jump drives
-Solar panel array
-Ion thrusters
-Extra hydrogen storage
-Small O2 farm
-2 docking connectors
-Medium armament:
-2 Artillery Turrets
-4 Gatling Turrets
-2 Assault Cannon Turrets
GAMEPLAY TIPS:
Docking/Undocking the wings
-Use buttons 8 and 9 on toolbar 3 to dock/undock the wings. 8 switches the lock on the connectors, and 9 turns the merge block on. Both are needed in order to fully connect. When reconnecting, you will likely have to "push" the rover and wings together by moving upwards into the wings in order to get the merge blocks connected. Afterwards, just lock the connectors.
General
- Starts with no uranium in the reactor, if you're running out of power find some!
- The undercarriage is quite fragile even with heavy armor, try to avoid hitting the bottom of the rover on anything.
- The atmo thrusters are basically required for ground travel. Don't overdo them, this thing is heavy and has lots of momentum.
- The solar wings are meant for interplanetary travel only. Detach them and save the GPS marker before heading down to a planet.
- When landing on a planet, you will likely have to point the front of the rover straight up in order to decelerate enough. Make sure you're using both hydro and atmo thrusters.
- To take off from a planet, find a ramp and gain some speed!
-When traveling on the ground, if you hit trees with your tires they will not slow you down.
Hope you enjoy, please let me know what you think!
