braden class freighter

Hot off the Black Star Federation's fleet yard, the Braden Class Freighter is a monolithic ship to behold. Featuring four seperate cargo holds of six large crates each, she is cabable of transporting almost any material for any contract. With 16 defensive turret emplacements, the Braden is sure to make would-be pirates think twice before laying their hands on your cargo!

The interior is compact, but complete with all current game requirements. (as of 10/11/2014) One med station, many passenger seats (the passenger seats on their backs in the crew quarters are placeholders for beds), and color-coded bridge officer stations.

-Red for Tactical, Weapons and Power control.
-Blue for Com/Helm, Thruster and Antennae/Beacon Control
-Yellow for Operations, Docking/Cargo Control

The ship is intended for a crew of 4-8 (as with most BSF ships) operating in rolling active/inactive roles. The two docking tubes at the aft are for the ship to refuel. She has two large cargo crates for her own materials, and functions on four large reactors, two small reactors, and numerous batteries. Should fuel (uranium rods) run out, solar pannels on the hull can recharge the batteries for limited use. The main cargo holds are 24 large cargo containers, seperated into four groups of six. The intent was for the ship to be cabable of carrying up to four contracts at a time, while ensuring the reliable and safe seperation of clients' goods. The cargo and ship supply conveyor systems are seperate, and should never have any issues functioning side-by-side. Individual crates have attached collectors for quicker loading, however clients should clear their use with the crew before attempting to throw material into them. (gravity generators can amke using collectors complicated/impossible). Each room has it's own light switches preset, to avoid frame rate loss on slower machines. The shuttle bay is heavily defended, as it is the most likely point of entry for unwanted guests. Other docking/entry ports are displayed with a yellow blinker, and have a locking anchor to make for easy transitioning between ships. (the aft airlock is not for casual entry, this is a maintenance airlock for the resupply tubes)

As most BSF ships/stations have a uniform dark color (220, 100, -100), I feel a mention should go out to my friend stratovariant for the suggestion of a lighter color on this build. The white/red with dark accents came out better than I expected; and may be seen again in future BSF builds.
