After the amazing success of the Komodo class heavy gunship, HIS with its HDI partners saw fit to build another Alpha Series ship. The Viper as with the Komodo was built as a cheaper alternative to some of the other frigates offered by HDI. This did not come with out concessions. The Viper while similarly armed to HDI ships is not has heavily armored as other frigates. This prompted a change of class from a full sized frigate to a light frigate. The development was also not with out its troubles. Many different versions of the ship were made with small changes to the armor and guns made through out the development process. This means though that with all HIS ships that only the best ship version is released for general use.

15 Interior Turrets ( these for a short range flak field to defend the frigate against incoming projectiles)

Core Systems
The ship is powered on a mix of batteries and reactors. For thrust the ship primarily uses hydrogen thrust with a few Ion thrusters augmenting the forward and backwards thrust. Fuel is provided by one large hydrogen tank and a number of small hydrogen tanks backed up by a complement of H2O2 generators. The ships interior offers a small crew quarters, command pit and full functioning red alert system, but the interior is not pressurized. The single jump drive on the ship can be found on the command pit along with a small door that leads to the gravity generator. Turrets are provided with ammunition via a highly de centralized cargo system with many of the turrets having their own cargo storage.
