Initially created as a total replacement model for the LAM 224 “Bloodhound” Strike Fighter S variant, MK2fR Bloodhounds are now deployed as Squadron leaders of Bloodhound wings, arrayed into groups of 5 fighters total, allowing for more than enough fire support for allied ground forces, while being just as capable of combating hostile air units as well, featuring the same initial load out of 2 auto cannons, 4 mini guns and 4 salvo rocket pods as well as an anti-armor assault cannon, Bloodhounds are just as dangerous as they look, but even experienced pilots tend to forget “Hounds” are 2-seat fighters, the copilot has the ability to man a 30mm chain gun mounted on the fighters back, while not the fastest ships in their class, Bloodhounds are equipped with Jump Drives, allowing them to jump in and out of combat zones quickly if in a pinch, without having to rely on a carrier class ship to endanger during combat, now refitted with stronger armor plating and removal of the unnecessary Atmospheric Thrusters, with the MK2 variant being just as versatile and just like the Griffin Heavy Frigates, all currently deployed Bloodhounds are being refitted with new, more powerful Torch Drive thrusters, allowing them to be much faster and still deliver the fearsome firepower Bloodhounds are known for and now due to recent events and trade deals, the new MK2fR Bloodhound variant has been retrofitted with a high powered Railgun allowing for pinpoint shots far beyond standard fighter engagement ranges, allowing these already dangerous ships to always get the first shot, in adding the Railgun however, they have been stripped of the Auto-cannons and have 2 additional mini guns instead, the MK2fR’s aren’t replacing the Bloodhounds in general rather they will be assigned to squadron leaders and Ace pilots among LAM’s Bloodhound wings for further testing, just like it’s base version, the MK2R Bloodhound has had its missile system relocated to the underside while the empty weapon slots have been filled with previously removed auto-cannons allowing every Bloodhound even more firepower then before, while keeping its excellent mobility, versatility and speed on all fronts, after recent engagements with more coordinated pirate organizations, LAM’s military branches have decided to replace the Bloodhound MK2R’s Railgun with a more cost effective and still highly efficient 150mm cannon
