The LAM 224 “Bloodhound” Strike Fighter is exactly what it’s name implies, a small but dangerous ship designed to swoop in and hit its targets hard and like many of LAM ships, Bloodhounds are deployed in packs allowing for more than enough fire support for allied ground forces while being just as capable of combating hostile air units as well, initially featuring 2 auto cannons, 4 mini guns and 4 salvo rocket pods as well as an anti-armor assault cannon, Bloodhounds are just as dangerous as they look, but even experienced pilots tend to forget “Hounds” are 2-seat fighters, the copilot has the ability to man a 30mm chain gun mounted on the fighters back, while not the fastest ships in their class, Bloodhounds are equipped with Jump Drives, allowing them to jump in and out of combat zones quickly if in a pinch, while also making LAM life a lot easier as they don’t have to spend money and resources on a Carrier class vessel, now refitted with stronger armor plating and removal of the unnecessary Atmospheric Thrusters, with the MK2 variant being just as versatile and just like the Griffin Heavy Frigates, all currently deployed Bloodhounds are being refitted with new, more powerful Torch Drive thrusters, allowing them to be much faster and still deliver the fearsome firepower Bloodhounds are known for, however now because of clever trade deals and alliances, LAM almost has more resources then they know what to do with, since beginning the refitting and rearmament of all currently deployed LAM combat ships, the 224 Bloodhound has since been vastly improved and upgraded, featuring the MK2fS and MK2fR variants, while the MK2fR is for squadron leaders and the most talented Aces, the MK2fS model is now the new standard for every original 224 strike fighter, having removed the auto-cannons in favor of more mini guns, the MK2fS also has a second assault cannon mounted in its nose allowing for just that much more damage output without having to figure out how to properly mount a hefty Railgun, these newer models are currently being distributed to all squadrons as fast as the foundries can refit them, now with the refit complete, both Bloodhound variants have been updated and sent out to their eager pilots throughout LAM space
