LAM Chimera Dropship MK1C

More akin to LAM’s early beginnings of a collective of ex-military, top scientists/engineers and Unification War refugees, the Chimera Dropship MK1 is a light armored and armed vessel designed at first for short distance interplanetary travels and light cargo hauling, now as LAM gets settled into the region of space called the ”Wolves Den” having previously untapped asteroid belts and considered not worth large scale colonization due to no Earth-like habitable planets within the system, LAM has fully occupied the region calling it home and has committed their existing fleets for protection and possible all out war against the many pirate groups around the Den’s outer reaches, while many ships are still undergoing military reworking, the Chimera was one of the first civilian classed ships retrofitted out of necessity, allowing for LAM marine strike teams to clear out nearby pirate hideouts quickly and effectively without suffering too many casualties of their own, the Chimera is fast and maneuverable for her size, and due to recent upgrades has an experimental force field “Drop Door” in place of most standard drop ship ramps and packs more then enough firepower to assist local ground forces, another variation of the Chimera, designated as MK1C relocates the bottom facing connecter in order to fit a heavy duty magnetic grapple dedicated for combat zone delivery of LAM light ground vehicles like the Goblin ISR (Infantry Support Rover), or supply crates from orbit to LAM lunar/planetary outposts similar to its variant the MK1, the Chimera MK1C has also been refitted and updated to fit LAMs current military standards, now LAM is currently looking for insight on how to improve the vehicle grapple on the MK1C, as the current clamp is showing signs of unreliability in more heated combat situations
