LAM Griffin Heavy Frigate MK3fG

The LAM (Lupus Arms Manufacturings) Griffin Class Heavy Frigate had original design concepts detailed as an explorer/miner but with constant threats still within LAM borders, that explorer has now been militarily converted into a fast, durable and well armed vessel, using multiple blueprint layouts at first, the LAM’s engineering and scientific divisions finally agreed to this current model and its pair of offshoot’s, hosting 2 light armored experimental Locust class modular turrets, multiple 20mm PDC’s, 30mm Auto Cannons and Burst Salvo missile turrets, as well as larger Burst firing missile salvo pods, the Griffin is able to punch well above her weight class and even more so as multiple of these powerful ships are deployed at a time, with each “Gorgon” pair usually accompanied by 2 or 4 more supporting MK3FM or MK3F Griffins depending on the task, wether it’s policing LAMs contested outer territories, keeping traders and civilian ships safe, warding off any potential threats from pirates or rival companies the Griffin class of ships are not to be underestimated, now undergoing a total refitting process the Griffin MK3f variant features the impressive Deuterium reactor and all of its components due to clever alliances and various trade deals LAM has made have allowed them to fully replace the old Pulse Drives with newer more powerful Fusion Engines and more advanced Torch Drives, these vastly upgraded ships are now well within their final stages of development and already the closest LAM patrol fleets are having their current Griffins sent home for refit, however due to the experimental nature and underwhelming performance of the Locust turrets, especially during live combat situations, all LAM Griffin vessels are having their Locust turrets removed and reassigned to the LAST (Light Anti-Ship Turret) defense perimeter grids that surround LAM orbital stations and lunar/ planet side bases, with every 3rd Griffin being reassigned as a MK3fG “Gorgon” having the more reliable 400mm double barrel siege cannon mounted in twin casings on either side of the bridge as the Frigates new main armament, with both Griffin classes in their final stages, all new Griffin MK3f and MK3fG variants have been fitted with more powerful thrusters, more external sensors, has had most of its salvo missile turrets replaced with 150mm light artillery guns, 300mm Flak turrets increased armor plating around the the bridge and aft section and all bridges have self sealing heavy blast doors installed to help better protect the crew while in combat as new weapons and technology becomes available, the remodeled Griffin MK3fG version has now been officially commissioned for all current and future Griffin patrol fleets as the dedicated long range engagement unit for all LAM Griffin Frigate groups within its borders, in addition a trio of static 1000mm Lance cannons have been added to all Gorgon variants, further identifying it as a medium to long range support vessel rather then its brawler focused cousins the MK3f and MK3FM, just like its sister ships however, all Gorgons have undergone the same turret rearrangement and new sensory system installation, allowing the Gorgon to maintain distance and still punishing anyone foolish enough to get too close during heated engagements, much like her cousins, all Gorgon class Griffins also got new toys, however rather than replacing a larger gun for two slightly smaller ones, every Gorgon now has a pair of Oerlikon class turrets, excellent platforms that outclass the Griffin ships already impressive PDC compliment, these new guns have the ability to accurately pick off any small ships at distance or pick apart larger ship weapon systems in tandem with the Gorgons sister ships Wolf Pack mentality, unlike her sister ships however the Gorgon class will maintain her mid to long distance engagement doctrine and thus will not require further overhaul of her weapon systems, like her sister ships, all Gorgons now have projection modules installed for quick exterior repairs if needed
