LAM Griffin Heavy Frigate MK4 Titan

The LAM (Lupus Arms Manufacturings) Griffin Class Heavy Frigate had original design concepts detailed as an explorer/miner but with constant threats still within LAM borders, that explorer has now been militarily converted into a fast, durable and well armed vessel, having multiple blueprint layouts at first, the LAM’s engineering and scientific divisions finally agreed to this current model, hosting 2 light armored experimental Locust class modular turrets, multiple 20mm PDC’s, 30mm Auto Cannons and multiple Salvo missile turrets, as well as larger, forward firing Salvo pods, the Griffin is able to punch well above her weight class and even more so as multiple of these powerful ships are deployed at a time, generally having 2-4 MK3f and MK3fM ships supporting every 1-2 “Gorgon” MK3FG Griffins deployed, depending of the severity of the situation, wether it’s simply policing/ patrolling LAM territory, warding off any potential threats from pirates or making arrogant rival companies think twice, Griffin class of frigates are not to be underestimated, now undergoing a total refitting process, the Griffin MK3f and her offspring variants the MK3FM “Mauler” and MK3FG “Gorgon” features the impressive Deuterium reactor and all of its components due to clever alliances and various trade deals LAM has made have allowed them to fully replace the old Pulse Drives with newer more powerful Fusion Engines and more advanced Torch Drives, these vastly upgraded ships are now well within their final stages of development and already the closest LAM patrol fleets are having their current Griffins sent home for refit, however due to the experimental nature and underwhelming performance of the Locust turrets, especially during live combat situations, all LAM Griffin vessels are having their Locust turrets removed and reassigned to the LAST (Light Anti-Ship Turret) defense perimeter grids that surround LAM orbital stations and lunar/ planet side bases, with each Griffin is now being assigned the more reliable 400mm siege cannon turret array as the Frigates new main armament, now within its final stage the Griffin MK3f has been fitted with more thrusters, more external sensors, new PDC and secondary armaments, in addition to all of this, every MK3f sent back for refit is being updated and retrofitted into one of the 2 new variants as the MK3fM or has now been fitted with 4 high velocity armor piercing Gatling Guns replacing some of the Salvo missile pods their bows in order to demolish same size or larger ships at close to medium range, while it’s bridge has been fitted with self sealing heavy blast doors, to help better protect the crew while in heavy combat situations, the original Griffin MK3F is just as focused on mid to short range brawling and similar Wolf Pack tactics as it’s sister ship the “Mauler” by surrounding and slugging it out with opponents until they surrender, are completely destroyed or try and escape, now both Griffin variants are in their final stages, having new platforms installed to spread out turret placement as well as new sensor arrays and a Fire Control turret, while still being able put out heavy damage at any range and target effectively whatever the situation, with the latest addition of the MK3FM Griffin variant, LAM now has a solid standing fleet within its borders and can look towards expanding/updating its defensive and ground based arsenals, during each Griffin refit, R&D and LAM engineers were able to combine LAM Locust class turrets with Warfare weapons, allowing for several completely new and devastating weaponry by simply combining fixed weapons and turret mounts, these new weapon types have now been made the standard for every Griffin variant, with the top mounted 400mm on MK3fM and MK3F models being replaced by the new turrets while keeping the bottom mounted 400mm as their true main armaments until recently, with extensive hands on experience and live fire engagements across LAM space, both MK3F and MK3FM Griffin class frigates are to have the remaining 400mm cannon replaced, gaining additional Warfare class turrets and a new fixed 1000mm Lance cannon while keeping a the pair of Azimuth grade fixed cannons and Salvo missile pods after both crews and captains of almost every task group deployed gave resounding applause and feedback of how devastating, effective and versatile the combined weapon systems are preforming, additionally, all Hydra class Griffins are replacing the original “Rarden” class turret with the more effective “Oerlikon” turrets used on their “Gorgon” sister ships, further developments and trade deals have allowed LAM to develop and produce an advanced holographic projection system for all of its space faring combat ships, from Griffin class frigates to Chimera drop-ships and Bloodhound strike fighters, allowing any damage to be repaired on site quickly or at any of LAM dockyards/ relay stations throughout its territory, after extensive feedback from Griffin crews, more demanding need for resources throughout the Den, LAM have decided to combine the MK3fM and its parent ship the MK3f together, now designated as MK3fH or “Hydra” class, effectively canceling the need for 3 different types of the same ship without sacrificing much in the way of fleet composition and allowing any Griffins currently out on patrol to make the necessary changes with little effort, all Griffin patrol groups will remain the same size as before, 2-4 Hydra class frigates for every 1-2 Gorgon variant, however deep within LAM space, the military branch has been developing a Griffin class to act as a Command and Control unit, hence the “Titan” was created, a Griffin class frigate that’s twice the size of her smaller sisters, these “Super Frigates” are now acting as flag ships for LAM fleet admirals, allowing LAM to now effectively combat even battleship class warships with effective strategies and coordination without designing a completely new ship class, armed with multiple 400mm cannons and several new “Hull Piercer” Railgun turrets, Titan class frigates are now deemed fit for combat, however despite their initial results, the Titan class frigates weren’t as effective in combat as expected, and now with the Cerberus class of ships arriving on mass, LAM has decided to forgo the Titan as a military platform and has converted it into a large scale cargo vessel, stripping down all of the larger weapons and hollowing out its smaller cargo bay to incorporate large containers for supplies and hydrogen tanks, the Titan is now an essential fleet utility ship, with more than enough small grade weapons to keep itself and any escorts safe, all of the largest LAM battle groups within the Wolves Den have been assigned a Titan class frigate, allowing them to resupply ammunition, hydrogen or deuterium at anytime, most Titan class frigates are accompanied by several of the Imp class utility ships, so members of the crew can gather nearby resources or conduct repairs, and if needed salvage wreckage from recent conflicts
