LAM Manticore Combat Cruiser Ares

The flagship of LAM’s “Wolves of Sparta” task fleet, “Ares” is a modified version of an LAM Manticore class cruiser, removing her original Oerlikon and Starstreak turrets, as well as some of her 43mm auto cannons and replacing them with new weapons, while also installing a new MKV MAC and being able to keep a pair of 1500 Lance cannons respectively, in order to store additional power modules and a extra pair of Jump Drives, during the design phase however, LAM had to remove the pair of Torch Thrusters just behind the original 400mm cannons, but now without good reason, as “Ares” has been fitted with 2 brand new LC-400 heavy artillery turrets, these guns pack an enormous punch and have considerably more range and accuracy than any other conventional weapons used within the Wolves Den, in addition to this the “Ares” has also had all of its original 150mm light artillery guns replaced with newer, longer range BC-170 artillery turrets, smaller versions of the burst fire main weapons on the Basilisk Griffin prototype, while having its larger Goalkeeper class CIWS weapons replaced with 8 large grade HEC-221 artillery turrets, all part of the Advanced Warfare family of weapons, “Ares” has had its smaller turrets rearranged to dorsal and ventral positions, the armor around the Rarden class turrets has been modified to allow far better fire coverage when anyone is foolish enough to enter broadside engagement range
