MATRA MNF Marteau-Pilon P580 Gen 1.2

The P580 Task Force Escort Carrier is part of the MATRA Block-500 program of aerial naval carrier systems. This system is designed to carry a fighter wing, and as such does not have the bay clearance for the E-95 Venimeaux gunship system. Which fighter the customer wishes to use is left to their discretion, though generally the P580 can operate up a full complement of 17 fighter craft. The power distribution is lean, meaning there is very little unused power between reactor and emergency DC batteries, something to keep in mind when conducting full-power combat operations.

Requires Assault Weapons Mod pack and Azimuth's Battle Cannons modpack, along with Nightowl's Naval Themed modpack (for aesthetic only). If you opt to not use the naval pack, you'll have to install your own antenna if desired.

This is a very small, light carrier but is extremely well armed for its class. It fills the role of a fighting escort carrier extremely well, but be aware that escort carriers are not particularly fast or heavily armored, so if pitted against a Cruiser (even a light cruiser) the P580 will almost certainly come off worse. However, when used in its intended role of escort support, it is ******** to any carrier of its class and tonnage and can defend itself against the common Destroyer or Frigate with ease.
