The SDI-Hermes is part of one of thi oldest class of combat ships SDI has ever made, The famous Hermes class blockade runners as there known are planitary attack ships that support ground forces and act as very heavy air support, There loved by ground forces as just one Hermes can easily destroy enemy tank lines or fortification, 40 years befor the Alarian war however SDI made the renouned Huntsmen class to start to faze out the old Hermes, But by the third year of the war both Hermes classes and Huntsmen classes were common sights as SDI needed every ship possible, as such the old Hermes got to see combat once more, and for the first time shed be against a very deadly force.
