Lore
The Yorktown class destroyer mk2 is a refit of the original Yorktown. The UFN High command noticed how outdated the workhorse of the UFN was and thought it was a time for a refit. In the Refit, they upgraded the weapons and upgraded the interior. The UFN will be slowly replacing the Yorktown mk1 over time.

Inspiration
The Yorktown thruster bay is slightly inspired by the CDF Aventine ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2485342413&searchtext=CDF ), The Yorktown is also inspired by the UNSC Paris class frigate.
